About "Breaking the Cycle"
Mondays from 10:30-12:00 PM or 1:15-2:45 PM and
Wednesdays from 10:30-12:00 PM or1:15-2:45 PM
The mission of our Breaking the Cycle Class is to help participants address their thinking, behavior, and/or substance use disorders in order to break the cycle of generational poverty.
Participants will set goals for their future, learn financial literacy and employment skills, & learn 4 key skills for overcoming substance use & criminal behavior, and develop a Recovery Maintenance Plan (RMP).
This is a 16 week (4 month) process of learning that includes opportunities such as:

Employment Skills

Financial Planning
-
Culinary Arts
-
Landscaping
-
Car Dealership/Automotive
Class participants will receive:

A stipend during classes for perfect attendance

Breakfast & Lunch

Assistance with Transportation

Other basic necessities offered by the Sparrow's Nest
Upon completion of the program we intend to connect our participants with gainful employment.

Requirements

Applicants must interview for a position after application is reviewed.

Individuals must be able to read/write on a 5th grade reading level.

Class will last 16 weeks. Individuals are not able to miss more than 4 classes or they will not be able to graduate or receive a stipend.

This program does not guarantee that an individual will obtain employment after graduation.

By joining this program, participants agree to follow the guidelines in the participant handbook as it pertains to the expectations, policies, and procedures of Breaking the Cycle. Participation for Breaking the Cycle is voluntary and you may leave the program at any time, under any circumstances. In addition, the Sparrow’s Nest reserves the right to dismiss participants from the program at any time, under any circumstances.
