Spring Banquet
Our Formal Spring Banquet allows our donors to come together and commemorate the accomplishments of The Sparrow's Nest within the past year.
The Keep Warm Project
Sparrow’s Nest is gearing up for the colder weather! Each September, Sparrow’s Nest begins collecting needed supplies for the less-fortunate for the winter. This includes jackets, gloves, scarves, skull-caps, blankets, sleeping bags, and backpacks. These items are given away on a distribution day in October, known as our Keep Warm Project! Businesses, donors, and volunteers come to together year after year to make this event a huge success every year!
Upcoming Event Information:
Distribution Date - October 27, 2023 from 11am to 2pm
Donations - Please drop off donations at The Sparrow's Nest by October 25th
Donation Hours - Mon and Tues from 9am-4pm, Wed and Fri from 9am-2pm
Donation Items Needed - coats, scarves, gloves, tents, sleeping bags, and hygiene items
Christmas Wishlist Giveaway
In December, we put our homeless clients' photos and Christmas Wishlist on the “Checked Twice” website. They have the opportunity to be chosen to receive Christmas presents from different donors! Also, we host a Christmas Party for our clients with a meal, movies, presents, and music!
Don’t forget, all gifts need to be wrapped and name-identified! These gifts need to be delivered to Sparrow’s Nest by Monday, December 18th please. Swing by during our open hours on:
Mondays-Tuesdays between 9AM-4PM or
Wednesdays-Fridays between 9AM-2PM

T-Shirts for Turkeys
Each Thanksgiving holiday, we aim to provide a Thanksgiving meal to those who may be without one during the holiday season. Each year, we have partnered with several local agencies, organizations, and sponsors (such as Zaxby’s and Sheats Social Services) to provide this to our clients. Look out on Facebook or Instagram for the upcoming event announcement!
Golf Tournament
Sparrow’s Nest hosts an Annual Golf Tournament at Athens Country Club as a fundraiser for our ministry. Registration begins in the fall for the Golf Tournament.
